Adwoa Loud Reveals How Serwaa Amihere Covered the Full Cost of Her First Surgery

Media personality Adwoa Amofa Osei, popularly known as Adwoa Loud, has shared a deeply personal experience about her battle with cervical cancer and the unexpected kindness she received from broadcaster Serwaa Amihere.

Speaking at the Stronger Women’s Health Conference (STWHC) on March 8, 2025, an event she organized and powered by Royalty Events, Adwoa Loud recounted how Serwaa fully funded her first surgery, a gesture that changed her life.

In 2019, Adwoa began losing weight rapidly and bleeding every day of that year, leading many to assume she was on a fitness journey. People often asked for her weight-loss secrets, unaware of the health battle she was silently fighting.

She revealed that she spent over a year and seven months consulting 12 gynecologists and visiting nine different hospitals, yet no one around her, except her sister and siblings, knew about her condition.

Despite concerns from Nana Aba Anamoah and others, she kept her struggles private, dismissing their worries by saying it was a family issue. Even during her time on a morning show, she endured injections and IV drips just to keep going.

It wasn’t until a doctor finally diagnosed her with cervical cancer that she realized the harsh reality of medical costs. She underwent surgery on September 4, 2020, but the financial burden left her completely broke.

She emphasized how expensive surgeries are, stating that without financial support from friends or family, survival becomes nearly impossible. She also shared that Dr. Appiah Kubi later informed her that her condition might make it difficult for her to have children, adding another layer of emotional pain.

Adwoa Loud used her platform to highlight the importance of supporting women’s health, urging people to be more understanding and compassionate rather than making assumptions about others’ struggles
