Chief One Launches Debut Album ‘It’s a Must,’ Featuring Top Afrobeats Collaborations

Fast-rising Ghanaian Afrobeats artist Chief One, born Ivan Michael Nyagamagu, has officially launched his debut album, It’s a Must, released on September 23, 2024. The artist, known for hit singles like “Borborbor,” “Nyemedzio,”and “Now I Know” featuring Fancy Gadam, has quickly gained popularity for his unique sound rooted in Southern Volta heritage, particularly Ziope and Keta.

In a recent interview on Class FM with host Zeal Nana Kweku Bliss, Chief One revealed that the album came together with an impressive burst of creativity, recording seven tracks in just three days. The 11-track project includes collaborations with Afrobeats talents like Vesti, Dada Bah, Hairlergbe, Tyme Laid, and Freshly. The tracklist opens with “Pray,” followed by songs like “Falsetto” (ft. Vesti), “Sometimes” (ft. Dada Bah), and “Now I Know” featuring Fancy Gadam.

Legendary Ghanaian rapper Obrafour has endorsed It’s a Must, which is already receiving significant airplay. The album is expected to solidify Chief One’s status as one of Ghana’s most promising Afrobeats artists.
