Frank Warren Eyes Daniel Dubois vs. Oleksandr Usyk Rematch After Joshua Knockout
Promoter Frank Warren is pushing for IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois to face Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch. Dubois, who lost to Usyk via a ninth-round stoppage in August 2023, was recently elevated to IBF champion after Usyk vacated the belt following his win over Tyson Fury. Warren believes Dubois, now more mature, has the potential to dominate the heavyweight division.
Dubois knocked Usyk down during their previous fight, but controversy arose when the referee ruled it a low blow, allowing Usyk nearly four minutes to recover. Warren insists Dubois is now better equipped to handle such situations, citing his impressive recent victory over Anthony Joshua. Although Joshua has a rematch clause, Warren is keen to explore the possibility of Dubois facing Usyk again, with the Ukrainian set to rematch Fury in December.
Meanwhile, Joshua has confirmed he has no plans to retire, despite his defeat. He remains positive about his career and hopes to continue making an impact in the sport.
