Jackie Appiah Earns Nomination for AMAA Best Actress Award

Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah has earned a nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the prestigious 20th Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for her performance in the movie Red Carpet. The announcement was made during the AMAA nomination ceremony in Ikeja, Nigeria, on October 2.

Jackie faces stiff competition from notable actresses including Girley Jazama, Oyin Oladejo, Unati Faku, Uzoamaka Aniunoh, Laura Pepple, and Ife Irele.

Themed “Celebrating African Creativity,” the AMAA event promises to showcase the best of African filmmaking talent. The awards will also include the launch of the AMAA coffee table book on October 25, celebrating two decades of African film excellence.
