Stonebwoy Take on Fans’ Call for Jejejereje Remix with Screwface
Afropop and reggae star Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, recently spoke on Onua Showtime with Nana Ama McBrown about the idea of featuring Screwface on a remix of his track “Jejejereje.” While Stonebwoy acknowledged the fans’ enthusiasm, he shared that business and market considerations make it a complex decision.
David Germain, known in the industry as “portfoliothemc,” commented that while a Screwface feature sounds appealing, it may not be strategically wise from a commercial standpoint—a sentiment Stonebwoy echoed. Stonebwoy elaborated that although Screwface’s involvement would resonate locally, the song’s success relies on his management team’s vision, which looks at broader markets.
Reflecting on the style, Stonebwoy added that this sound is a nostalgic part of Ghana’s music identity, so he took a calculated risk bringing it into his album, knowing fans would connect with it. He left open the possibility of a future collaboration with Screwface, mentioning that it could happen if the moment and timing are right.
