Tsadidi Street Art Festival 2024: A Celebration of Arts, Culture, and Tourism
The Tsadidi Street Art Festival is set to bring vibrant celebrations to Keta’s Fort Prinzenstein from November 1-3, 2024. Coinciding with the Hogbetsotso Festival, the Tsadidi Festival—meaning “tourism” in Ewe—aims to showcase the rich heritage of Ghana’s Volta Region under the theme “Cultural Experiment.”
Founded by Ghanaian visual storyteller GlennSamm, this year’s event opens with an educational session for visual arts students in Keta and Anloga. The festivities continue with storytelling and a bonfire night on Friday, November 1. Saturday, November 2, will feature a colorful art procession through Keta, culminating in dynamic art installations, graffiti, and traditional performances. The festival wraps up on Sunday, November 3, with a beach barbecue featuring music and local dishes.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, GlennSamm shared his vision for the festival, designed as a unique, structured experience for those attending the Hogbetsotso Festival. “Festivals bring people together for various reasons, including traditional rites. Tsadidi provides recreational activities and a platform to celebrate the arts,” he said. This year’s event is organized by MiPrime Entertainment with Global and Suvinil Paints as sponsors. GlennSamm, a 2022 Pulse Influencer Award winner for Fashion Influencer of the Year, brings his creative expertise to elevate the festival’s atmosphere.
