May Edochie Responds to Critics, Clarifies Stance on Divorce Amid Split from Yul Edochie

May Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has responded to criticisms from men accusing her of encouraging divorce after she filed to end her marriage in 2023, citing adultery. In an interview on the Glasshouse podcast with comedian AY Makun, May clarified her stance, expressing that she values family and marriage and is not an advocate for divorce.

“Some men see me as someone that is misleading their wives,” she shared, addressing the backlash. “I love family and marriage, but there is a misconception about marriage that is totally different. Ideally, marriage is the basis of family. Because there would be no you or me without family.”

May emphasized that her decision to file for divorce was a personal choice and not intended as a message to other women. “I’m not in any way advocating separation or divorce in any way,” she stated, refuting claims that she promotes separation.

Through her words, May Edochie highlighted the importance of marriage and family, while maintaining that her choice was specific to her circumstances.
